The Chairman of the Ogun State APC Student Affairs Committee, Adeyemi Samson, popularly known as Sam Rich, has pledged to mobilise students across the state for active participation in the 2027 general elections.

Samson said the committee would intensify voter education, sensitisation and awareness campaigns to encourage eligible students to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and participate responsibly in the electoral process.

He made this known after the inauguration of the Ogun State APC Campaign Council, where he expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Dapo Abiodun, the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, and other party leaders for recognising the importance of the student constituency.

The committee chairman said the political landscape required innovative approaches to engaging young people, particularly members of Generation Z who are eligible to vote.

He noted that although students should be encouraged to make independent political choices, they must understand that government policies and decisions directly or indirectly affect their lives.

Samson stressed the need for students to be adequately represented in governance and urged them to take civic responsibilities seriously.

He said the committee would continue to promote voter registration, civic awareness and political participation among students, adding that the student constituency was prepared to support the ideals and agenda of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State.

He also commended the party leadership for ensuring that students were carried along in its political activities.
