The Chairman of the Ogun State APC Youth Engagement Committee, Olamide Lawal, says the committee will prioritise youth participation and engagement ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Lawal, who spoke after the inauguration of the Ogun State APC Campaign Council, said the committee would engage young people across the state and create platforms for them to express their concerns and receive feedback from the party’s leadership.
He said the committee would also organise town hall meetings to ensure that the views and concerns of young people are communicated to the party’s leadership and its governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.
“We are ready to engage all spheres of young people in the state for them to be actively involved in political participation, and not just participation alone, ensuring that they also maximise their strength during the election process,” Lawal said.
He added that the committee would work to give young people a sense of belonging by creating a medium through which they could communicate directly with the campaign leadership.
Lawal said the assignment would also involve taking the concerns of young people to the party’s leaders for consideration and possible action.
He expressed appreciation to the Ogun State Governor and the party’s governorship candidate for finding him worthy to lead the youth engagement effort.
Lawal is listed as Chairman of the Youth Engagement Committee in the 156-member Ogun APC Campaign Council inaugurated ahead of the 2027 elections.
