The Convener of the Ogun State-based Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM), Armstrong Tope Akintunde, has congratulated the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alongside the newly elected National Chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, and other members of the party’s National Working Committee.

Akintunde also extended goodwill to the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, national delegates from the state, and opposition lawmakers in the Ogun State House of Assembly who recently defected to the ruling APC.

In a felicitation statement released to journalists on Saturday, Akintunde described the convention as a defining moment for the party, noting that the APC continues to witness remarkable growth under President Tinubu’s leadership. He praised the emergence of the new national executives, expressing confidence in their ability to reposition the party for greater success.

“This presents another opportunity for our great party to consolidate its strength and further outpace opposition forces. The APC is expanding steadily, with increasing support and membership across the country,” he said.

Commending President Tinubu, Akintunde added, “Our leader has demonstrated exceptional leadership. His style remains exemplary and continues to inspire us as a progressive movement in Ogun State.”

He further applauded Governor Abiodun for sustaining stability and strengthening party structures in the state.

“I must also commend our leader and father in Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his visionary leadership. The wave of defections from opposition members into the APC, particularly within the State Assembly, is a testament to the growing confidence in the party,” he noted.

Akintunde equally praised the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Oludaisi Elemide, as well as national delegates who participated in the party’s 8th National Convention held at Eagle Square, Abuja, expressing optimism about the party’s future trajectory.

In a related message, the YPM State Coordinator, Olusegun Kaka, celebrated the successful conduct of the convention and the emergence of the new national leadership.

“This is indeed a moment of pride for our party, especially in Ogun State. The presence and alignment of former opposition members at the convention underscore a growing unity and reaffirm the steady progress being made within the State Assembly,” Kaka stated.

He added that the development signals a stronger, more cohesive APC poised to deliver on its promises.

The Yayi Progressives Movement reiterated its commitment to promoting progressive ideals, strengthening party unity, and mobilizing grassroots support for good governance across Ogun State.

Members of the movement also pledged continued dedication to fostering inclusiveness, political stability, and sustainable development in alignment with the party’s vision.
