ABEOKUTA— The Renewed Hope Ambassadors have commissioned their Ogun State Secretariat in Abeokuta as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and expand the organisation’s activities across the state ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The new secretariat, which was officially opened in Abeokuta, brought together leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), grassroots mobilisers and supporters of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Speaking at the commissioning, the Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, represented by the Director of Mobilisation and Administration, Chief Olisa Metuh, said the organisation would continue to take the policies and programmes of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration to Nigerians at the grassroots.
Metuh commended President Tinubu for what he described as the courage to take difficult economic decisions aimed at repositioning the Nigerian economy.
He identified the removal of the petrol subsidy as one of the major policy decisions of the administration, saying it had made additional resources available to the federal, state and local governments for development and public welfare.
He also cited road construction and rehabilitation projects across the country as part of the administration’s efforts to improve infrastructure and stimulate economic development.
Metuh urged members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to intensify grassroots engagement by ensuring that citizens were adequately informed about government policies, programmes and projects.
Also speaking at the event, former Ogun State Governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba, called for unity and peaceful resolution of disagreements among members of the APC.
Osoba urged party members to remain committed to the party and promised to personally engage members at the ward level.
He also said he would advocate for an improved reward system for loyal party members in his engagements with President Tinubu.
The Zonal Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Senator Adebayo Adeyeye, called on members and supporters of the organisation to strengthen their mobilisation efforts at the grassroots.
Earlier, the Ogun State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Prince Olusegun Adesegun, said the new secretariat would provide a central platform for coordinating the group’s activities and strengthening its presence across the 20 local government areas of Ogun State.
The commissioning is expected to further enhance the organisation’s grassroots structure and coordination ahead of the 2027 elections.
