The Oluomo of Ijebu-Igbo and Agbesinga Akile Ijebu, High Chief Alhaji Abiodun Ismail Lawal Abinugbola, has criticised the performance of the lawmaker representing Ijebu North, Ijebu East and Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Joseph Adegbesan.
High Chief Abinugbola, in a Facebook post, alleged that Adegbesan had failed to execute any tangible project in Ijebu-Igbo since assuming office, describing the lawmaker’s performance in the area as “below expectation.”
He called on residents and voters in the community to reject Adegbesan at the next election.
According to him, the people should not support the return of a representative whose alleged achievements in Ijebu-Igbo have not translated into visible projects.
He wrote: “Honorable Adegbesan of All Progressive Congress (APC) has performed below expectation in Ijebu-Igbo. He has no tangible project executed in Ijebu-Igbo for more than three years in power. We should ensure not to vote someone like him in coming election.”
The traditional title holder further stated that efforts would be made to prevent Adegbesan from securing votes in the forthcoming election.
“We will ensure to remove his vote from others in coming election,” he added.
Adegbesan is a member of the All Progressives Congress and represents the Ijebu North/Ijebu East/Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Official National Assembly records identify him as the representative for the constituency.
He also emerged as the APC candidate for the same federal constituency in the party’s 2026 House of Representatives primary.
The allegations by High Chief Abinugbola concern his assessment of Adegbesan’s constituency performance in Ijebu-Igbo. They represent the position expressed by the traditional title holder in his Facebook post.
