Otunba Bimbo Ashiru, former Group Chairman of Odu’a Investment Company Limited and former Ogun State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, has received the Daily Times Nigeria @100 Changemaker Award in recognition of his leadership, public service and contributions to national development.
Ashiru expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing it as both humbling and encouraging, particularly as he joined over 50 distinguished Nigerians honoured at the centenary celebration of The Daily Times.
Other notable award recipients include Dr. Biodun Shobanjo, Chairman of Troyka Holdings; Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Group President of Dangote Group; and Prince Nduka Obaigbena, Founding Chairman of THISDAY/ARISE Group.
The former Odu’a Investment chairman commended the Group Publisher, Board, Management and Organising Committee of The Daily Times Nigeria @100 Celebration for the honour, noting that the newspaper remains an iconic institution that has played a significant role in shaping Nigeria’s history.
Ashiru said the recognition had renewed his commitment to purposeful leadership, responsible service and nation-building, stressing the need to build enduring institutions, create meaningful economic opportunities and leave lasting legacies for future generations.
