Assistant Grand Patron of the Ogun State APC Campaign Council, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Ishola, has described the party’s campaign council as all-inclusive, saying its composition reflects the broad support for the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ishola, who spoke after the inauguration of the campaign council, said the structure brings together serving and former lawmakers, council chairmen, party leaders and other prominent stakeholders across the state. He said the calibre of those on the list demonstrated the strength and reach of the party’s campaign structure.
According to him, the campaign is designed to address both the presidential and governorship elections, noting that the Southwest has strong support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid. He also said the emerging political direction in Ogun State was for the Yewa people to have the opportunity to produce the next governor.
Ishola said the decision to support a Yewa candidate was aimed at addressing what he described as longstanding concerns over fairness and rotation of power in the state. He added that the combination of the presidential and governorship campaigns had brought various stakeholders together under the APC platform.
