Loyalists of former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, have condemned the purported result of the Ogun Central Senatorial District primary election of the All Progressives Congress, APC, currently circulating in some quarters, describing it as fake, misleading and the handiwork of mischief makers.

Speaking with journalists, the group led by Sesan Bamgbola said Senator Amosun had long made his position known that he would not participate in the party’s primary election process. According to him, it was therefore laughable for anyone to associate the former governor with any result emerging from the exercise.

Bamgbola described the figures contained in the alleged result sheet as ridiculous and unbelievable, insisting that those behind it must think residents of Ogun State and Nigerians generally could easily be deceived. He argued that in a direct primary election allegedly boycotted by Senator Amosun, it was unreasonable for some individuals to manufacture figures and attempt to give them credibility.

The Amosun loyalists further mocked the authenticity of the result, questioning the comparison between Senator Shuaib Salisu and Senator Ibikunle Amosun in Ogun Central politics.

“Salisu in Central vs Amosun? Latibo sibo? Anyone who believes that result can believe anything under the sun,” Bamgbola stated, while maintaining that the former governor remains a strong political force in the district and beyond.
