The Federal Government of Nigeria has commissioned a Digital Innovation Park in Ogun, targeting an improved $1 trillion economy.
The commissioning was held on Wednesday in Abeokuta, the state capital, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, disclosing that the initiative is part of his Renewed Hope Agenda for youth empowerment and inclusive economic growth at the heart of Nigeria’s journey to 1$ trillion economies.
Tinubu’ who was represented by the Minister of Communication and Innovation on Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani disclosed his Ministry’s Strategic Blueprint and had set out to make Nigeria a global leader in digital infrastructure, talent development, and innovation.
He maintained that the Ministry is building a foundations—fiber optics, AI frameworks, tech talent pipelines, and smart regulation—not just for Lagos or Abuja, but for every part of our country.
According to him, “There are moments in life that bring everything full circle.
Today is one of them. That dream—of using innovation to transform lives—has taken me across the continent, helping to build some of Africa’s most successful and sustainable innovation ecosystems. “
“And that is why this moment—the commissioning of the NCC Digital Innovation Park—matters so deeply, It is a vital part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which places digital innovation, youth empowerment, and inclusive economic growth at the heart of Nigeria’s journey to a $1 trillion economy” he stated.
“In our Ministry’s Strategic Blueprint, we’ve set out to make Nigeria a global leader in digital infrastructure, talent development, and innovation. Because shared prosperity must be built on shared access to opportunity. ”
He commended the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun for his vision in making Ogun State not just a heritage tourism but for innovation and enterprise that align with at the federal level.
He added that it can be a bets way on how states help power the national agenda—through practical, forward-looking investments like this.
In his welcome address, the Vice Chairman of NCC Mr. Aminu Maida disclosed that Digital Industrial Park is a landmark and symbolic project of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), a vital component of our broader agenda to accelerate ICT innovation, strengthen research capabilities, and drive the sustainable growth of Nigeria’s digital economy.
He posited that the digital park would serve as a brig for emerging economies like ours. It remains one of our greatest hopes for leapfrogging development.
He said, “Our presence here marks progress in the delivery of a tangible achievement of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration’s Renewed Hope agenda.
The newly completed Digital Industrial Park, Abeokuta, a landmark and symbolic project of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) is a vital component of our broader agenda to accelerate ICT innovation, strengthen research capabilities, and drive the sustainable growth of Nigeria’s digital economy”.

Meanwhile, the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, in his remark Gov. Abiodun described the Digital Innovation Park as a beacon of progress, a catalyst for economic growth, and a testament to our unwavering commitment to harnessing technology for the collective good of our people.
He posited that the establishment of the Digital Innovation Park reflects a strong commitment to fostering innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
Abiodun commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a transformative agenda rooted in inclusive growth, digital transformation, job creation, and economic sustainability.
