ABEOKUTA — Political heavyweights and grassroots mobilisers within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oke-Ogun, Abeokuta North Local Government Area, have moved to solidify the party’s structure ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, governorship hopeful Distinguished Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), and incumbent lawmaker Hon. Babatunde Tella.

The position of the leaders was formalised at a strategic meeting convened by the APC leader in the area and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Broadcast Media, Prince Ifekayode Akinbode. The resolution, captured in a communiqué endorsed by more than 45 stakeholders across the four wards in the community, signals a united front within the Oke-Ogun political bloc.

In their collective stance, the stakeholders applauded the policy direction and leadership approach of President Tinubu, noting that ongoing reforms under his administration have laid a foundation for long-term national growth. They maintained that continuity at the centre would further stabilise the economy and improve citizens’ welfare.

Attention was also turned to the Ogun State governorship race, where the leaders rallied behind Senator Adeola, popularly known as Yayi. They described him as a tested political figure with deep grassroots appeal and the administrative competence required to steer the state toward greater development.

At the local level, the gathering threw its full weight behind Hon. Babatunde Tella, endorsing him for another term in the Ogun State House of Assembly. The stakeholders pointed to his strong constituency presence, responsiveness to the needs of the people, and track record of projects as key reasons for their decision.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Prince Akinbode highlighted Tella’s consistency in engaging constituents and delivering tangible benefits, stressing that his performance has earned him widespread acceptance across Oke-Ogun.

The meeting concluded with a resolve to intensify mobilisation efforts across all wards, ensuring a coordinated push for APC candidates during the elections. The leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to party cohesion, expressing confidence that unity within their ranks would translate into decisive victories at the polls.
