A peaceful atmosphere was recorded on Thursday in Ward 13, Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State, as party stakeholders turned out in large numbers to affirm their support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship consensus candidate, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking after the primary election exercise, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Ogun State on Youth and Sports, Hon. Tunde Delu, said the ward was united in its decision to support the senator, citing confidence in his leadership vision and developmental track record.
“It is peaceful in Abeokuta South Local Government Ward 13 and across Ogun State as a whole. We are affirming the consensus candidate of our party for the 2027 governorship election, Senator Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi),” he said.
Delu added that the decision was based on trust in the senator’s capacity to deliver greater development across the state.
“We are supporting him because we believe in his vision for Ogun State and his commitment to a more prosperous state. We can all see what he has been doing since becoming the senator representing Ogun West. His impact has been felt across the state, and a lot of development has spread throughout Ogun State,” he said.
He further stated that the ward remained fully aligned with the senator’s ambition, describing the support as unanimous.
“As I said earlier, we believe in his vision that Senator Yayi will move Ogun State to the next level. Ward 13, Abeokuta South, is 100 percent behind Senator Olamilekan Yayi,” he added.
