IPOKIA — The political race for the Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency received a fresh boost on Wednesday as leaders of the Ipokia Local Government Zonal Development Community Committee (CDC) declared their support for Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo ahead of the 2027 House of Representatives election.
The endorsement came during a thank-you visit to Taiwo by the CDC leaders following his sponsorship of 20 representatives of the community development committees in Ipokia to the annual SHA SHA Training held in Iperu from August 4 to 7, 2026.
Led by Alhaji Chief Elekede Adebayo, the delegation said Taiwo’s sponsorship of representatives from the 20 CDCs demonstrated recognition of grassroots community structures and their role in local development.
Chief Adebayo said the gesture had made a strong impression on the community leaders, adding that they had resolved to support Taiwo’s aspiration in the 2027 election.
“We have decided to stand firmly behind Dr. Taiwo. Individually and as a team, we will campaign and work with everything we have to ensure his victory in the general election,” he said.
Responding, Taiwo thanked the CDC leaders for the visit and pledged to sustain his partnership with community development structures across Ipokia. He said the relationship would be based on continued engagement and mutual development, as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general election.
