As the 2027 general elections draw closer, Ogun State House of Assembly aspirant, Prince Oluwafemi Akinlawon, has urged residents of Yewa-North Local Government Area—and Nigerians across the country—to prioritize registering for their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
Akinlawon, an All Progressives Congress (APC) member representing Imasayi Ward, made the appeal in a statement issued on Thursday. He stressed that no electoral victory is possible without a prepared electorate, noting that the PVC remains the most powerful tool in determining the outcome of any democratic contest.
“There is no victory without effort, and the true reward for that effort is when citizens come out with their PVCs to fulfil their civic responsibility,” he said.
The young aspirant described the forthcoming 2027 elections as an opportunity to reaffirm his commitment to the people of Yewa-North. He added that the growing involvement of young Nigerians in governance signals that “it’s youth-o-clock.”
“It’s my pleasure to make this passionate appeal to the good people of Yewa-North. No candidate can win without the total support of the people. With unity and participation, the 2027 election will bring a resounding victory for our supporters and for our local government,” he stated.
Akinlawon commended the APC for creating a level playing field that encourages both youth and elders to participate in the political process. He reiterated his resolve to lead with integrity and champion a new direction for his constituency.
“I am in this race to provide purposeful leadership and lead by example. Your encouragement and support become meaningful when you show up to vote—and your PVC is the key to making that happen,” he added.
