Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has pledged to conduct structural integrity tests on a building at Mayigi Community Comprehensive School in Ilase, following a rainstorm that caused a collapse, resulting in the death of a 14-year-old pupil and injuring others.
During an on-site assessment, he emphasized that the building will remain closed until safety is confirmed.
The Governor, represented by Deputy Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele assured that measures would be taken to prevent similar incidents and directed local education officials to inspect other schools for safety.
He also visited victims in the hospital and the family of the deceased, offering condolences and support.
