Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested two men for alleged unlawful possession of three human skulls in the Ijebu area of the state.

The suspects were apprehended on Monday, August 11, 2025, during a routine stop-and-search operation conducted by a team of Mobile Police Officers from 71 PMF Awa Ijebu along the Ijebu-Ode/Ibadan Expressway at Refugees Camp Junction, Oru Ijebu.

According to the command, officers flagged down a motorcycle ridden by one Kadir Owolabi. A search of his luggage led to the startling discovery of three human skulls.

Police investigations later resulted in the arrest of a second suspect, 53-year-old Jamiu Yisa, at a location behind the Ijebu-Ode Local Government Secretariat.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, Ph.D, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to take over the case for discreet investigation.

Police spokesperson, CSP Omolola Odutola, said the command remains committed to tackling criminal activities in the state and urged residents to cooperate with security operatives, assuring that information provided would be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
