Remo, Ogun State — With just hours to the August 16 by-election, former House of Representatives member and APC stalwart AbdulKabir Adekunle Akinlade has issued a strong call to voters in the Remo Federal Constituency: unite behind the party’s candidate, Elegbéji, or risk stalling the constituency’s progress for years to come.

Speaking to supporters, Akinlade painted the election as a defining moment for Remo’s political and economic future, warning against complacency or division. “This is not just another election — it is a chance to secure a representative who will truly put the people’s interests first,” he declared.

Describing Elegbéji as “a seasoned and capable leader,” Akinlade highlighted the candidate’s blueprint for improving infrastructure, boosting job creation, and enhancing education and healthcare across the constituency.

He urged supporters to go beyond casting their own votes by mobilizing their neighbors, friends, and family to ensure maximum turnout on Saturday. “Every single ballot counts. A divided vote is a wasted opportunity,” Akinlade warned.

In a subtle jab at opposition forces, he cautioned residents to be vigilant against “divisive tactics” aimed at fracturing the electorate, adding that only a united front could deliver sustainable development.

Akinlade also praised Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun for his achievements, noting that the governor’s record is giving APC candidates an edge in the state. “With the right leadership, this election is already within our grasp — but only if we stand together,” he concluded.

Campaign activities are expected to intensify in the hours leading to the polls, as Akinlade’s team works to shore up support for what he insists is a “must-win” contest for Remo’s future.
