Prince Olawale Adeyemi-Oriola (Esq.), a United States–based Nigerian and aspirant to the Awujale stool, has extended Christmas greetings to the people of Ijebuland, both at home and in the diaspora, urging them to remain hopeful and united as the nation marks the 2025 Christmas celebration.
In his goodwill message, Prince Oriola described Christmas as a season that symbolizes God’s boundless love for humanity, marked by the birth of Jesus Christ. He called on the Ijebu people to uphold the values of love, unity, and selflessness, stressing that these virtues are vital for peace, sustainable development, and collective progress.
The Awujale aspirant emphasized that the spirit of Christmas should extend beyond the festive period, encouraging Ijebu indigenes worldwide to continue fostering peaceful coexistence, mutual respect, and genuine concern for one another.
According to him, citizens must strive to be good neighbours, act as their brothers’ keepers, and contribute positively to nation-building through unity and shared responsibility.
“Beyond this Christmas season, we must continually show love to one another, uphold unity, and work collectively for the progress of our dear nation,” he said.
Prince Oriola also offered prayers for peace, renewed hope, and restoration across Ijebuland and the country at large.
“I wish all my brothers and sisters, fathers and mothers in Ijebuland a memorable and peaceful Christmas celebration. May the message of Christmas fill every home with joy, strengthen the bonds of unity across ethnic and religious divides, and usher our nation into a season of peace and prosperity,” he added.
He further prayed for wisdom in leadership, compassion among citizens, and divine grace to overcome the nation’s current challenges.
