The Nigeria Police Force has announced a change in its Public Relations Office, signaling a new phase in the management of the Force’s image and engagement with the public.
The handover ceremony, held at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, marked the formal transfer of responsibilities from the outgoing spokesperson to the newly appointed officer.
In his remarks, the outgoing Force Public Relations Officer DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi who has been promoted to head Operations at the Delta Command as Deputy Commissioner of Police expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, senior officers, and journalists for their support during his tenure, while urging continued cooperation with his successor.
The new spokesperson Benjamin Hundeyin who was former Lagos Public Relations Officer pledged to build on the achievements of his predecessor, promising to strengthen transparency, improve police-community relations, and deepen the use of technology in information management.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode EGBETOKUN who presided over the event, charged the new image-maker to remain professional, proactive, and responsive in projecting the activities of the Force and reinforcing public confidence in the Nigeria Police.
