The Ogun State Government has announced that the Olumo Rock Tourist Complex will undergo significant renovations beginning Monday, April 14, 2025.
This initiative aims to enhance tourism and preserve the cultural heritage of one of the state’s most iconic attractions.
Hon. Sesan Fagbayi, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, emphasized that the renovations are part of a broader strategy to upgrade facilities and improve the overall experience for visitors. He noted that ensuring safety during the renovation process is a top priority.
Olumo Rock, which draws over 70,000 visitors annually, is recognized as a premier destination in Nigeria. The government believes that this upgrade is crucial for maintaining its appeal and status in the tourism sector.
While the site will be temporarily closed during renovations, the State Government has expressed regret for any inconvenience this may cause.
Officials assured the public that further updates would be communicated as the renovation progresses, underscoring the government’s commitment to enhancing the visitor experience at Olumo Rock.
