Ogun Police Deploy Officers, Assure Professionalism Ahead of Constituency Bye-EleThe Ogun State Police Command says it has deployed sufficient personnel to ensure security during the Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency bye-election scheduled for Saturday, 16th August 2025.
Addressing election duty officers at the Command Headquarters in Eleweran, Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Ogunlowo, PhD, stressed the importance of professionalism, civility, and neutrality in carrying out election duties.
According to the Command, robust security measures are in place in collaboration with other security agencies, supported by additional manpower from Zone 2 Command, Lagos. The goal, CP Ogunlowo said, is to prevent violence and maintain a safe environment before, during, and after the polls.
Voters have been urged to comply with electoral laws. Activities such as campaign rallies, vote-buying, distribution of flyers, or displaying political stickers at polling areas will not be allowed.
Movement restrictions will apply in election areas from 12:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on election day. Police patrol teams, stop-and-search units, and other operational squads will be stationed strategically to ensure a smooth process.
The Command has appealed for the cooperation of all voters and warned that any attempt to disrupt the election will be met with decisive action.
