The Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr Noimot Salako Oyedele, has launched the distribution of free mosquito nets to protect vulnerable communities from malaria.
The campaign aims to distribute 3.1 million insecticide-treated nets to households across the state, encouraging residents to embrace the initiative as a collective effort in fighting malaria.
The Ogun State Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health and the Society for Family Health, will distribute the nets at designated points, where households can collect them upon presentation of their Net cards.
The campaign aims to reduce the spread of malaria, which continues to affect millions in Nigeria, and reinforce the state’s commitment to tackling malaria and improving public health.
The state has set an ambitious goal of eliminating malaria by 2026, and this distribution is an added advantage in achieving that goal.
