The immediate past chairman of Obafemi Owode local government, Hon. Lanre Ogunsola has successful undergone his screening exercise ahead of the Local Government polls in November 16.
Ogunsola was screened along with other All Progressive Congress chairmanship candidates, at the Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission (OGSIEC) headquarters in Abeokuta, on Thursday.
Speaking with newsmen after his screening, Ogunsola expressed confidence in his reelection bid, saying that he will continue with his landmark developmental strides if elected.
He further boasted that his landmark achievement in his first time will make the people of the local government to cast their votes for him at the polls.
He however expressed satisfaction on the screening process, commending the electoral umpire for its commitment towards ensuring a free, fair, and credible election.
“I have been screened today by Ogun State Independent Electoral Commission , OGSIEC as one of the chairmanship candidates in the State. I want to tell you that the process was fine and I have passed the screening.
“I have the confidence of winning at the polls because of my great performance during my first time as the Council Chairman.
“I had performed beyond my people’s expectations especially the people in the rural areas, i performed in the areas of infrastructure, social amenities, security, health and many others and with all these i have done, i am very sure that my people will cast their votes for me and I will emerge the winner of the election”.
