The Executive Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Hon. (Dr.) Babatunde Oyetola Diya, has inaugurated the Local Government Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) Sub-Committee and sworn in 75 newly appointed Senior Political Assistants and Political Assistants across the 15 wards of the council.
The event, held under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was witnessed by party leaders and community stakeholders. The CVR Committee was officially inaugurated by the APC Southwest Woman Leader, Mrs. Yetunde Shakirat Adesanya (Abiyamo).
A notable highlight of the occasion was the defection of Mrs. Akinyele Olamide Modinat, a prominent grassroots politician and former PDP advocate, to the ruling APC.
In his charge to the appointees, Dr. Diya described their appointments as a call to service, urging them to redouble efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Odogbolu recorded about 96,000 registered voters in the last election. This time, we must aim to double that number, improve voter card collection, and ultimately deliver more votes in favour of our great party,” he declared.
He further launched a grassroots empowerment scheme tagged “Iranlowo Tunde”, which will provide ₦10,000 monthly stipends to 150 beneficiaries on a rotational basis. According to him, welfare initiatives remain crucial in motivating citizens to fulfil their civic duties.
Dr. Diya also commended party loyalists and supporters, particularly Dr. Seun Sokan and Mr. Dennis Ogunnaike, for their contributions towards renovating the APC party secretariat in Odogbolu.
The ceremony was graced by dignitaries including APC LG Chairman, Akogun Muyiwa Idowu; Pa Fasasi Kalejaiye of the Governor’s Advisory Council; Hon. Ireti Adenugba, SLA to the Senate President; Chief Ganiyu Odunlami; Otunba Femi Adesanya Bobadara; Elder Soliu Abayomi; Hon. Dennis Ogunnaike, SA to the Governor on Youth Development and Technology Innovation; Dr. Tayo Lawal, Special Adviser to the Governor; Barr. Dapo Oduwole, DG PPP Ogun State; and other party executives, ward leaders, and members of the legislative council led by Rt. Hon. Adesoye Akeem Tunde.
Dr. Diya assured that hardworking and loyal party members would continue to be rewarded in line with the vision of Governor Dapo Abiodun, CON.
