The new managing director of Ogun Osun River Basin Development Authority (OORBDA), Engr Deji Ashiru, has said that his administration will enhance water resources management to achieve food security.
He stated this while assuming office at the OORBDA office in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, that his focus areas would include enhancing water resource management; promoting agriculture and food security; supporting infrastructural development and ensuring transparency and accountability.
He expressed his gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for the opportunity to serve and pledged to work towards achieving the Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in food security.
Ashiru also acknowledged the support of Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, and committed to upholding high standards and core values.
He emphasized the importance of teamwork, promising to listen, learn, and support the river basin family to achieve excellence.
Ashiru also stressed the need for adequate funding, revealing his intention to explore international funding opportunities.
The immediate past Managing Director, Engineer Olayemi Odumosu, appreciated the staffers of the agency for their dedication and teamwork.
While appreciating President Tinubu for giving him the opportunity to serve the country.
He expressed confidence in Dr. Ashiru’s leadership qualities and wished the authority continued success.
Odumosu said, “As I step down from my role, I do so with the utmost confidence in my successor Dr Engr Adedeji Ashiru bringing a wealth of experience.
“I can attest to his exceptional leadership qualities and dedication to our mission. I’m confident that under Dr Ashiru stewardship, Ogun Osun River Basin Development Authority will continue to thrive and achieve even greater heights.
