The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has imposed a six-month ban on popular Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, widely known as K1 De Ultimate, from all commercial flights within the country.
This disciplinary action follows an incident at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, where the musician allegedly disrupted airport operations through unruly behavior that violated established protocols for boarding and departure.
Confirming the development, NCAA Director of Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, stated that the sanction reflects the agency’s firm stance on maintaining order and safety within Nigeria’s aviation space.
In addition to blacklisting K1 De Ultimate, the NCAA also announced the temporary suspension of licenses for the pilots involved, pending the conclusion of an internal investigation.
“No one is above the law,” Achimugu said, addressing public speculation and dismissing claims that the musician’s reported closeness to the presidency would shield him from consequences. “President Bola Tinubu himself is a respecter of the law and would not condone any act that undermines public safety or the NCAA’s authority.”
The agency emphasized that it maintains a zero-tolerance policy for misconduct—whether from passengers or aviation personnel—underscoring that adherence to safety protocols applies equally, regardless of social standing or public profile.
The NCAA reiterated its commitment to preserving the integrity, safety, and reliability of Nigerian air travel through strict enforcement of aviation standards.
