Governor Ademola Adeleke has announced a relaxation of the previously imposed 24-hour curfew, reducing it to 17 hours, effective from 2 PM to 7 AM the following day.
This adjustment will begin on Friday, March 28, 2025, and will remain in effect until further notice.
The decision aims to alleviate the hardships faced by residents of the affected towns and to allow them the opportunity to attend to their immediate needs.
While commending the cessation of hostilities thus far, Governor Adeleke expressed concern over reports of another killing, for which law enforcement has made an arrest.
He warned that “anybody or group of persons found or caught masterminding any violent act will face the full consequences.”
The governor has tasked the joint security taskforce with maintaining continuous 24-hour surveillance to ensure a zero-tolerance policy against any form of lawlessness.
Additionally, Governor Adeleke has directed the state emergency agency to intensify support services for the displaced individuals, as previously instructed.
