FIRST YEAR ANNIVERSARY ; TOUGH TIMES WILL PASS AWAY -HON.  OGUNBANWO

House of Representative member of the National Assembly who represents Ijebu Ode, Odogbolu and Ijebu North East Federal constituency, Hon Olufemi Ogunbanwo has appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the current administration led by President Bola Tinubu as the tough times experienced shall also pass

 

Hon Ogunbanwo stated this in his one year message to its constituents to remind them of his promise made to them exactly one year now and how he has been able to fulfill most of it even in the face of economic downturn

 

While giving account of his stewardship reeled out programmes/initiatives he has carried out either in his personal or official capacities to provide reliable representation to the people.

 

In just s65 days, the Honourable member has granted #50,000.00 to 100 small-scale traders (Oko’wo Omo-Iwa), Provision of 105 sewing machines to Artisan tailoring trainees, Donation of Five (5) bags of rice to each of the 36 wards in December 2023 and all the leaders, Financial grants to 135 widows in October 2023 and March 2024, Bursary Grant of #50,000.00 to 220 indigent students.

 

Honourable Ogunbanwo also Procured 300 KVA Transformer to residents of Cele Area, lmepe, ljebu-Ode, Financial support to refurbish the transformer of Odogbolu FEGO area, Financial Support to Ala Community to procure new transformer, Cash grant of N200,000.00 to each of the 36 wards for lleya 2024, Financial grants for all Party Local Government and Ward Executive members (ongoing) and Food Palliatives to the vulnerable in February 2024.

 

Skill training of women and youth in cookery, provision of equipment, and financial support, Award of contracts for the reconstruction / rehabilitation of Oju-ona Road in Ijebu North East Local Government, Awokoya Street in Ijebu-Ode Local Government and Ikise – Ilado Road in Odogbolu Local Government by the Federal Institute concerned.

 

On Legislation at the floor of the House of Representatives, Hon Ogunbanwo sponsored three Bills awaiting further legislative processes, Certified Pension Institute of Nigeria (Establishment) Bill, 2023, National Entrepreneurship and Artisan Training Institute (Establishment) Bill, 2023, and National Institute for Creative and Performing Arts, Ososa-Ijebu, Ogbu State (Establishment) Bill, 2023 in addition to many other motions, moved on the floor of the House.

 

Hon Ogunbanwo reaffirmed its commitment to the “Renewed Hope Agenda” of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, and the ” Building Our Future Together Agenda ” of Governor , Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON.

 

“I am not oblivious to the fact that we are passing through challenging times and severe economic conditions. I also want to reassure you all that the time is just a test to our joint resolve and collective commitment to see a greater future for our nation.”

 

“I personally plead with all of us as Nigerians to exercise patience with the Government. Once we continue to walk hand-in-hand, I assure you all that we shall overcome the present challenges.”

 

“These tough times shall soon pass away. The light is just out there after the tunnel, and we will reach the Promised Land.”
