One Doctor Sokunbi of the Ogun state ministry of health, has been petitioned by a medical doctor, Dr. Adekunle Awolaja over what he described as malicious damage to his medical facility, located at Lusada in Ado Odo Ota local government area of the state.
Dr. Awolaja also accused Sokunbi of threatening his life, and that of his staff, just as he ordered the closure of his facility by Alternate Medicine Practitioners popularly called – TRADO MEDICAL an act, he described illegal.
In the petition, sighted by our reporter, Dr Awolaja noted that the hospital, Loving Heart Hospital Limited, duly registered with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has three Medical Doctors duly licensed by the MDCN to practice Medicine In Nigeria.
Dr. Awolaja further narrated that his staff were assaulted, dragged and oppressed in the course of carrying out the illegal closure of his facility.
“I wish to put straight an activity which occured at my premises at Lusada on 28th February, 2025 when a team of Alternate Medicine Practitioners stormed my facility, LOVING HEART HOSPITAL LIMITED and they publicly assaulted my staffs.
“They came with handcuffs in their possession despite not being police officers. Miss Oyindamola Oloruntobi was dragged outside and battered while being threatened that she would be handcuffed.
“They insisted that they are closing down the hospital. This implied an express use of Tradomedical practitioners who are non-ministry agents to carry out a closure of a CAC registered outfit without any court order or any accusation of medical malpractice”, he said
He therefore queried the staff unprofessional attitudes, adding that “why is the bureaucracy created only against us and not against those who have never been schooled but they can run their facility with quackery uncontrollably.
“Why is the ministry gagging us and still give the Alternate Medicine Practitioners power to oppress us. Why should a facility like Loving Heart with 3 Medical Doctors be denied from immediate registration”
