Ilase, Ipokia Local Government – March 18, 2025* – A sudden and intense rainstorm, accompanied by strong winds, wreaked havoc at Mayigi Comprehensive School today, resulting in significant structural damage and tragic injuries.
The storm has killed a 14-year old Junior Secondary School three student, Timothy Amosun while five other learners, two teachers, as well as the School food vendor and her seven month- old baby, were reportedly injured during the tragic incident.
The storm also led to the collapse of a full building on the school premises, while the roof of a newly constructed two-story building, has been completely torn off.
Authorities are urging the community to remain calm as they assess the damage and coordinate recovery efforts.
