The Orile Oko community is actively addressing and refuting rumours regarding the death of their monarch, Oba Elijah Agboola Shogbayi.

Community leaders, including Otunba Samod Ogunsola, who is the Otunba of Orile Oko and the Chief Executive Officer of Ijakumo Bitters have characterized the rumours as malicious attempts to tarnish the late king’s image, threatening legal action against those spreading falsehoods.

In a related effort, Senior Chief Lisa, the interim king, has successfully taken legal action against a media outlet for publishing the inaccurate report, ensuring a correction and retraction.

This decisive response reflects the community’s commitment to honouring the late monarch’s legacy and maintaining his dignity as they collectively mourn his passing.

The message is clear: any attempts to undermine the legacy of Oba Shogbayi will not be tolerated.
