The Clementina Legal Aid Philanthropy (CLAP) Foundation is set for its official inauguration on November 29, 2025, at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos, in an event expected to attract dignitaries and legal minds from across the African continent.
Established to provide free and subsidized legal assistance to underprivileged individuals, the CLAP Foundation aims to give renewed hope to Africans who have been wrongfully detained, denied fair representation, or unable to meet bail conditions due to financial constraints.
The foundation’s intervention, according to organizers, will help address the growing number of vulnerable individuals trapped within the justice system because of poverty and lack of access to legal support.
Speaking ahead of the event, Solicitor Ayo Modupe, a Trustee and member of the planning committee, said the foundation seeks to build a community of Africans committed to reforming the justice system and upholding fairness.
“This initiative is about restoring hope and dignity to those who have been failed by the system. CLAP Foundation is calling on genuine Africans who believe in justice and fairness to join this movement,” he stated.
Modupe added that the official inauguration would not only mark the beginning of a transformative journey but also create a lasting legacy for contributors and beneficiaries alike.
He emphasized that the foundation’s ultimate goal is to strengthen the resolve of Africans to uphold integrity and fairness, particularly within the justice system, while inspiring a new culture of accountability across the continent.
