It was a moment of pure joy and fulfilment as Ogun’s celebrated media and events entrepreneur, Bola Solate, popularly known as Bola Solate, earned a First Class Honours degree in Mass Communication from Chrisland University, Abeokuta.
For a woman who has gracefully juggled multiple roles — mother, wife, business leader, and student — Bola’s achievement is more than an academic triumph; it is a statement of resilience and purpose.
Known across Nigeria’s event and media space for her creativity, integrity, and tireless work ethic, Bola Solate has built an impressive empire that includes M19 Image Limited, the parent company behind PublicFaces Magazine, PublicFaces TV, M19 Events and Academy, 360 Booth, Choplife Oguro, Choplife Villa & Restaurants, and Choplife Car Wash.
Her story is a reminder that success is not defined by age or circumstance, but by passion and perseverance.
“It looked like a waste of time and energy at first,” Bola recalled with a smile. “Balancing lectures, assignments, and exams with high-profile events, childbearing, and motherhood was tough — I barely survived. But today, I can say it was all worth it.”
The new graduate praised the academic excellence and discipline of Chrisland University, describing her journey as “demanding yet deeply rewarding.”
“Chrisland’s standards are high, and the lecturers are strict but committed to true learning. Looking back, I’m grateful — the effort has paid off with a First Class Honours. Learning is a continuous process, and I’m not stopping here,” she affirmed, hinting at plans to pursue her Master’s and PhD.
Bola’s journey into journalism began at the age of 23, when she launched PublicFaces Magazine — a pioneering platform that earned her the recognition of Nigeria’s Youngest Female Publisher by the Guild of Magazine Publishers, Abuja. She went on to earn her OND and HND in Mass Communication from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic before returning to academia a decade later for her BSc.
Today, her success story inspires countless women across Nigeria — a testament that motherhood, entrepreneurship, and ambition can not only coexist, but thrive in harmony.
