A former Special Assistant to Governor Dapo Abiodun and an Aspirant for House of Representatives of Abeokuta South Federal Constituency at the last election Balogun Afeez Olaniyi has joined the race to contest for the Chairmanship seat of Abeokuta South Local Government under the All Progressives Congress.
His intention was made public in a message sent to the people of Abeokuta South tagged *Reinventing Local Governance for shared Happines*
The message reads, “Fellow citizens of Abeokuta South Local Government.
“Our community deserves a leader who will harness our collective potential and drive progress. As a dedicated and visionary leader, I, Hon. Balogun Olaniyi Afeez (BOA), am excited to announce my aspiration for Chairman of our prestigious Abeokuta South Local Government.
BAO also tagged his commitment as follows.
* Infrastructure Development such as
Modernizing our roads, healthcare facilities, and schools.
* Support local businesses, create jobs, and stimulate growth.
* Provision of Social Services that will Enhance security, sanitation, and social welfare programs.
* Transparency and Accountability to Ensure open governance and responsible management of resources
BAO have come a long way and his achievements also speaks for him as he also reels out his Achievements,
– As a former member of the current administration in Ogun State serving as a Senior Special Assistant to his Excellency Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun, CON, on Energy between year 2020 to 2023 Through this office I have contributed to the energy sector of the state by actualizing the Energy Goals of the administration. Some of the projects carried out include transformer replacement in various communities across the state, street lighting, expansion of the state IPP to cover more state facilities, Energy audits in industrial clusters statewide to explore sustainable power solutions for them, and the creation of the Ogun State Electricity Board.
