Amosun mourns, as Towulade of Akinale, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye joins his ancestors

Former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun CON, FCA, has commiserated with the Ogunleye royal family of Akinale and Delesolu Compound, Ago-Owu, Abeokuta, the council of Chiefs and the entire indigenes of Akinale, as Kabiyesi, HRH Oba (Dr.) Olufemi Okesooto Iyanda Adewunmi Ogunleye, Towulade of Akinale, Owu Kingdom Abeokuta, joined his ancestors on Wednesday, 19 June, 2024, at the age of 79 years.

Senator Amosun described Oba Olufemi Ogunleye as a respected monarch with unwavering commitment and passion towards the development of Akinale, Owu Kingdom, Egbaland, and Ogun State.

He was an embodiment of royalty and professionalism, having excelled as a veteran journalist, public relations icon, and a renowned legal practitioner. His successful career was undoubtedly a testament to his successful reign.

As the 1st Towulade of Akinale, who was crowned in 2006, Oba Ogunleye played significant roles in influencing many positive developments that have taken place in the community.

He exemplified purposeful leadership and was always at the forefront of promoting peaceful co-existence and unity among the people.

While condoling with the widow, Olori Olanike Ogunleye, the children, and grandchildren, Senator Amosun prays that Almighty God will grant Oba Olufemi Ogunleye eternal rest, and give the entire Ogunleye family and the people of Akinale, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
