Former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun CON, FCA, has mourned the passing of the second republic senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Senator Kunle Oyero. He died on Wednesday, 26th of June, 2024, at the age of 100 years.
Senator Amosun, while also condoling with the Oyero family, the people of Ogun Central and Ogun State as a whole, described Senator Oyero as a respected elder statesman, foremost politician, consummate public servant, and successful lawyer who contributed immensely to laying a solid foundation for the development of Ogun State and Nigeria.
The former Governor recalled how Senator Oyero served as a voice of reasoning on the floor of the senate when he represented Ogun Central, and the crucial roles he played alongside other eminent leaders in setting the tone for quality representation and effective lawmaking which successive senators from the senatorial district have continued to build on.
“Senator Oyero will be remembered for his hard work, selfless service and purposeful leadership. It is on record that he exuded these sterling qualities as Attorney General in Ogun State, President of the Nigerian Youth Congress, Chairman of the Lagos Branch of the Nigeria Bar Association, and 1st National Vice President of the Nigerian Bar Association, among others.

Senator Amosun prayed that the Almighty God will grant him eternal rest, and give his children, grandchildren and the entire Oyero family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
