Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Ogun West), Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, has dismissed claims by the Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that his recent distribution of 102 transformers to 435 Community Development Areas across the state was a bid for personal credit.
In a statement signed by his media adviser, Chief Kayode Odunaro, Adeola described the PDP’s criticism as “politically induced phobia” and “ego-driven,” insisting that all projects he facilitated are tied to his electoral mandate, the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, and the developmental drive of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration.
“For the records, Senator Adeola has never claimed his numerous facilitated projects and empowerment initiatives as personal favours. They are part of his faithful discharge of duty as an elected representative,” the statement read.
The senator emphasised that the term “facilitated” is clearly displayed on project signposts, brochures, and banners, and that his efforts are targeted at addressing multifaceted social challenges in Ogun State.
Odunaro noted that the 102 transformers are a product of strategic facilitation, proving the benefits of having “experienced and committed legislators in positions of influence.” He urged the PDP to focus on delivering measurable projects through their own representatives rather than attempting to discredit genuine achievements.
“Senator Adeola will continue to fight for Ogun West and Ogun State’s inclusion in the national budget, defend its allocations, and ensure effective implementation,” the statement concluded.
