The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, has felicitated with the Executive Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Dr. Lanre Sodipo, on the occasion of his 50th birthday, describing him as a visionary leader who has redefined grassroots governance in the state.
In a statement jointly signed by the NUJ State Chairman, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju, and Secretary, Comrade Bunmi Adigun, the Union noted that Dr. Sodipo’s leadership has been marked by “uncommon dedication, transparency, and innovation in local government administration.”
Since assuming office, the NUJ said, the Abeokuta North helmsman has delivered critical infrastructure, rolled out people-centred programmes, and introduced reforms that have brought government closer to the people. His administration, according to the statement, has also recorded strides in education, healthcare, rural roads, and youth empowerment, with a deliberate focus on accountability and inclusiveness.
“At 50, Dr. Sodipo stands tall as a leader whose legacy of service, humility, and impact continues to set a standard for others. His golden jubilee is not just a personal milestone but a celebration of the enduring difference one man can make in shaping lives and transforming communities,” the statement read.
The Union prayed for God’s continued wisdom, strength, and good health for the celebrant, describing him as “a shining light in grassroots leadership and a beacon of hope for good governance in Nigeria.”
