ABEOKUTA – Friends and associates of the late broadcaster, Kitan Oyesiku, have intensified calls for justice, urging security agencies and the Ogun State Government to leave no stone unturned in the ongoing investigation into her gruesome murder.
In a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by Oluwaseun Boye, MNIPR, on behalf of the Friends of Kitan Oyesiku, the group expressed deep concern over the tragic circumstances surrounding her death, describing the incident as cruel, senseless, and heartbreaking.
The group noted that Kitan was widely known for her peaceful disposition, kindness, and compassion, stressing that her untimely death has left family members, friends, and admirers devastated.
While commending the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, and officers of the Ogun State Police Command for the progress made so far in the investigation, the friends urged law enforcement authorities to sustain the momentum until all those responsible for the crime are identified, apprehended, and prosecuted.
“We appreciate the efforts of the police and encourage them not to relent until every individual connected with this heinous crime is brought to justice,” the statement said.
The group also appealed to the Ogun State Government and relevant authorities to ensure that the case is pursued diligently, emphasizing that justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done.
According to the statement, bringing the perpetrators to book would reassure members of the public that criminal acts of such magnitude will not go unpunished and that every life matters.
The friends further renewed their appeal to members of the public to volunteer any useful information that could aid investigators, noting that even seemingly insignificant details may prove crucial in solving the case.
“We remain hopeful that the truth will prevail and that those responsible for this horrific act will be brought to book,” the statement added.
The group concluded by reaffirming its demand for justice for the slain broadcaster, insisting that her killers must not escape accountability.
