ABEOKUTA — The Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has extended warm congratulations to Hon. Adijat Adeleye, a former Commissioner for Women Affairs in the state, as she celebrates her 50th birthday anniversary.
In a celebratory statement jointly signed by the Council Chairman, Comrade Akinwale Olanrewaju, and Secretary, Comrade Bunmi Adigun on Sunday, the union praised Adeleye’s track record of public service and her long-standing relationship with the press.
The council highlighted her tenure as a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly and her impactful stint as the Commissioner for Women Affairs, where she spearheaded various initiatives to improve the lives of women, children, and vulnerable groups.
“As she marks this significant milestone, the Council acknowledges her remarkable contributions to the political and socio-economic development of Ogun State, as well as her commitment to grassroots empowerment and inclusive governance,” the statement read.
Beyond her political career, the Ogun NUJ specially recognized Adeleye’s deep ties with media practitioners, describing her as a “friend of the media” who consistently respects the profession and supports public enlightenment.
Hon. Adeleye is currently vying to represent the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives under the banner of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The union concluded its message by wishing the candidate excellent health, continued success, and many more years of impactful service to humanity as she pursues her federal legislative ambition.
