Former Ogun State Governor and Senator representing Ogun Central, Ibikunle Amosun, has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the ongoing party primary process as peaceful and orderly.
Speaking with journalists during the APC presidential primary affirmation exercise, Amosun said the day was specially dedicated to demonstrating support for President Tinubu and the ruling party across the country. According to him, party members in every ward nationwide were participating in the exercise to reaffirm their commitment to the President and the APC.
The former governor explained that party stakeholders had earlier taken similar positions during previous party activities, stressing that the current exercise was a continuation of the collective decision already made by members. He noted that APC members in Ogun State were united and speaking with one voice in support of the Presidentโs leadership.
Amosun expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the exercise, describing the atmosphere as peaceful and well-organized. He commended party members for their enthusiasm and orderly participation, adding that there was no sign of division among party faithful.
When asked about his senatorial ambition, the former governor declined to comment on the issue, insisting that the focus of the day was solely on President Tinubu and the APC. โWe are for Mr. President today,โ Amosun said jokingly, drawing laughter from supporters and journalists at the venue.
