Hundreds of children in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, were treated to a memorable Christmas celebration on Monday as Prince Olawale Yusuf Adeyemi-Oriola (Esq.) hosted a grand festive party in the Agunsebi community.

The colourful event, which attracted parents, guardians, and community members, featured gift presentations, food distribution, and entertainment aimed at spreading joy among children during the Yuletide season.

Although unavoidably absent, Prince Adeyemi-Oriola was fully represented by members of his Obayori age group and family, who coordinated the celebration on his behalf. They explained that the initiative reflects the prince’s long-standing commitment to humanitarian service, child welfare, and community development.

Speaking with journalists via telephone, Prince Adeyemi-Oriola said the celebration was driven by his desire to make children feel loved, valued, and included during the Christmas season.

“Christmas is a period of giving, sharing joy, and making children feel that they truly belong,” he said.

He added that giving back during festive periods gives him deep personal fulfillment, noting that generosity remains central to the meaning of Christmas.

“If I do not give at a time like this, I do not feel relaxed, because Christmas represents love and sacrifice,” he stated.

Highlights of the event included the distribution of makeshift school bags containing water bottles, pens, notebooks, rulers, and erasers to the children, alongside food packs. Selected parents also received bags of foodstuffs, including garri, rice, and semovita, during an entertaining children’s dance competition that added excitement to the celebration.

Members of Obayori Okunrin Asiwaju Akile Ijebu, including Otun Giwa Kuku, Ayodeji Kolade, and Oduwole Olabanji, graced the occasion and commended Prince Adeyemi-Oriola for his generosity and consistent support for children and the wider Ijebu-Ode community.

Many community members described the initiative as a meaningful contribution to child development and social bonding, urging other well-meaning individuals to emulate such acts of kindness, especially during the festive season.
