“Very few men are this gracious in victory. What has truly amazed me in recent months is the dignity and respect with which he has received us,” said Abdulkabir Akinlade, former deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State.

Akinlade made this statement today as he, along with the immediate past PDP chairman in the state, Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele, and their supporters officially returned to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking at the event, Akinlade praised Governor Dapo Abiodun for his humility and statesmanship despite his electoral triumph. “Here is a man whom God has elevated in every way. A man who has won it all and delivered impressively on his mandate. Yet, he never looked down on us. He welcomed us with open arms, accorded us dignity, and treated us with remarkable respect. I have been deeply impressed.”

He clarified that their move was not a decamping but a return to their political home. “We are not decamping today; we are simply moving back home en masse. We are here to join hands with our dear governor to move Ogun State forward,” Akinlade declared.

The return of Akinlade, Ogundele, and their loyalists marks a significant political development in Ogun State, strengthening the APC ahead of future political contests.
