Hon. Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, the Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, has received commendation from the Ogun State House of Assembly during a recent oversight visit.
Lawmakers praised the local government’s performance, organization, and adherence to due process.
Hon. Lukman Adeleye, Minority Leader and member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), described the local government as “exceptionally outstanding” and “the most organized” he has visited.
He emphasized the importance of recognizing good work regardless of political affiliations, stating, “This chairman has done well.”
Alhaji Hon. Jemili Akingbade, Chairman of the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, noted impressive developmental strides in Abeokuta North, highlighting substantial transformation in just a few months. He expressed admiration for the organization and due process observed in the local government’s operations.
In response, Chairman Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo credited the achievements to the visionary directive of Governor Dapo Abiodun and emphasized his commitment to delivering tangible impacts across all 16 wards and four communities within the local government.
He highlighted the importance of leadership and staff morale in achieving meaningful change, stating, “We need to improve our staff morale and create an inspiring environment.” Oyegbola-Sodipo acknowledged the challenges in changing long-standing attitudes but expressed optimism about the progress being made.
His focus remains on executing the ISEYA blueprint to ensure impactful governance for the people of Abeokuta North.
