ILARO– The Minister of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani has described cultural festivals as necessary components for the country’s socioeconomic rebirth.
The minister stated this while delivering his remarks at the 2024 Oronna day celebration held in Ilaro on Sunday.
Represented by Senator Iyabo Anisulowo, Tunji who was the chairman of the occasion lauded the preservation of the festival, saying that it has helped to further uphold and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Ilaro Kingdom.
“Over the years, and as a result of the positive vision and dynamic leadership of Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, Oronna Day has grown to become one of the foremost mega cultural festival shaping and positively transforming the values of the Nigerian youth.
” At these challenging times in our nation’s history, we need to support and sustain Festivals like Oronna Day as a necessary component of our national rebirth in complement of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the present administration ably championed by His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.
“I call on all and sundry to support by prayer and our allegiance, the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun, an astute and uncommon administrator who is fast transforming Ogun State to global standards despite many economic challenges”, he said
Highlights of the occasion includes the presentation of brand new laptops to 15 outstanding indigent students, among others
