The All Progressives Congress (APC) has recorded a landslide victory in the Remo Federal Constituency by-election as its candidate, Princess Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji, was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Elegbeji polled a total of 41,237 votes to defeat her closest challenger from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who garnered 14,324 votes.

The Returning Officer, Professor Kazeem Bello, made the official declaration at the collation center, affirming that Elegbeji satisfied all electoral requirements and therefore stood elected as the new representative of Remo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

The announcement immediately triggered scenes of excitement across Sagamu, Ikenne, and Remo North, as jubilant APC supporters trooped into the streets waving party flags and chanting victory songs.

Community leaders and party chieftains described the outcome as a resounding vote of confidence in both the APC and its candidate.

In her victory speech, Elegbeji expressed profound gratitude to the electorate for the overwhelming mandate, promising to deliver effective representation. She pledged to focus on youth empowerment, job creation, and infrastructural renewal that would directly impact the lives of the people in the constituency.

Observers commended the peaceful conduct of the election, noting that only minor hitches were reported in a few polling units.

With this emphatic win, APC has once again consolidated its dominance in Ogun State politics, while Princess Elegbeji’s triumph has been hailed as a new dawn for the Remo Federal Constituency.
