The political atmosphere in Ewekoro Local Government took a new turn today, July 8, 2025, as Hon. Alhaja Abisola Aliyu, the Vice Chairman of the Local Government, officially welcomed newly defected members from the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the All Progressives Congress (APC). The event took place at the Ewekoro Local Government Secretariat.
Representing the Council Chairman, Hon. Sikirulai Adeshina, Hon. Abisola Aliyu described the defection as a significant step in the right direction. She noted that the influx of new members from opposition parties was a sign of the APC’s growing strength and credibility in the area.
Hon. Aliyu further encouraged the defectors to embrace the spirit of unity and collective responsibility.
She emphasized that their decision to join the APC was not only welcome but also strategic in building a more formidable structure for the party’s future victories.
The event was well attended by political stakeholders, including the Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), party executives, and community leaders.
The gathering created a sense of solidarity as members from different political backgrounds came together under the APC umbrella.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Hon. Monsur Mosan expressed appreciation to the Vice Chairman, the SLG, and other party leaders for the warm reception.
He assured them of the group’s full loyalty and commitment to the progress of the party at both the local and state levels.
Hon. Mosan noted that the decision to join APC was driven by a desire for better leadership, inclusiveness, and development.
He promised that the new members would bring value, numbers, and energy to the party’s base in Ewekoro.
With this development, APC in Ewekoro appears to be gaining more momentum ahead of future elections, as the party continues to expand its support base and unite political forces across the board.
